We want products that really make a difference and are pleasant to use. But more importantly, those products need to include only good-for-skin, good-for-you ingredients. We only add what’s needed to make a product really work, in the gentlest way possible. The majority of our products are vegan and nearly all of our ingredients come from natural sources. You can see on each product page what percentage of the ingredients are naturally-derived. Most of our ingredients are found in nature in a form that has not been significantly processed – our oils and waxes, for example.

Sometimes we include synthetic ingredients to make a product easier to use, to make it more effective, or to keep it safe for you to use over a period of months. We choose quality, safe, synthetic ingredients when a suitable, equally effective natural alternative is not available. 

For example, we put a synthetic preservative made of Phenoxyethanol and Ethylhexylglycerin in many of our water-based products to make sure that nasties like bacteria, fungus, and yeast don’t grow. These ingredients are necessary, safe, and effective.

Another example of a synthetic ingredient in many of our products is Penstia Powder (Adipic Acid/Neopentyl Glycol Crosspolymer) which is considered perfectly safe. It’s not a very friendly-sounding ingredient, but it makes our products feel wonderful on the skin. In the case of our mattifying setting powder, it blurs imperfections, too. It’s a small luxury we include and we think you’ll love it!

You are very unlikely to have an adverse reaction to any Corum personal care product because we choose low-risk ingredients and we properly dilute any essential oils that we include.

If you experience burning, itching, pain, or hives from anything you put on your skin, rinse the area where you applied the product, and expose the skin to the air but not direct sunlight. Do not use the product that you suspect caused the reaction.

Apply an oatmeal paste for the itch. Oral antihistamines may help reduce itching. Do not use a topical antihistamine.

If symptoms persist for more than a few hours, seek medical attention.

If you experience swelling of the lips, tongue and throat, difficulty breathing or light-headedness, seek medical attention immediately. For urgent care in the US call 911 or 1-800-222-1222 (poison control).
